In the center – the emblem of the Bank of Russia (double-headed eagle with wings down, below – semicircular inscription “Bank of Russia”), framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the circle. At the top you can see “Fifty rubles”, at the bottom – information about the class of precious metal and alloy, in the center – date of issue “2013”, on the right – fine metal content and the mark of the mint.

in the center on the mirror field of the disc – the coat of arms of the city of Smolensk, to the left of it – the inscription in three lines: “Smolensk”, to the right – a two-line inscription: “1150 years”; on the top of the edge there is an inscription of the mythical bird Gamayun with outstretched wings. Along the edge in the circle is a plant ornament.
