History

Peter I, called the Great, (1672-1725) was the last Tsar of All Russia (since 1682) and the first Emperor of All Russia (since 1721). He was a representative of the Romanov dynasty. He was proclaimed tsar at the age of 10 and ruled independently from 1689. His brother Ivan was formally Peter’s co-regent (until his death in 1696).
