Canada – 2011 – 50 Dollars – Maple Leaf – Canadian Mint Refinery 100 Years Privy Mark – Reverse Proof – NGC PF69 – Cert 3161197-011

This Canadian gold coin combines the iconic Maple Leaf design with a rare special edition: a reverse-proof strike featuring the centenary privy mark “100” and the double year 1911-2011. This creates a distinctly numismatic character that goes beyond the classic 1 oz Maple Leaf issue. Furthermore, the very limited mintage makes this issue particularly attractive to collectors specifically seeking modern rarities with a clear historical significance.

The reverse features the maple leaf motif, flanked by the fineness mark 9999, as well as the legends FINE GOLD and 1 OZ OR PUR. The privy mark “100” with the dates 1911-2011, which clearly identifies the issue, is both striking and of interest to collectors. The reverse proof finish features matte surfaces and mirrored raised areas, giving the relief a particularly three-dimensional effect. The obverse depicts the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

The present example was graded PF69 by NGC. This indicates near-perfect reverse-proof condition, and the quality of the minting is objectively confirmed.
