Krugerrand 2010 Mintmark Berlin Bear 1oz Proof Gold

This is the Krugerrand Launch Set from 2010. This set consists of the 2010 Krugerrand 1 oz gold coin with the “Berlin Bear” mintmark in honor of the World Money Fair in Berlin.

The set also includes a medallion in silver 999 fineness in a shiny finish.

The Launch Set in this issue has a very small print run of only 302 pieces.

Front:

The obverse of the Krugerrand gold coin features the world-famous portrait of Paul Kruger, after whom the series of Krugerrand coins was named. Paul Kruger, then President of South Africa (1883 to 1902), founded the mint from which the South African Mint emerged.

On the edge of the coin was stamped the country of issue in English and Afrikaans.

On this side, the Berlin Bear is also minted as a Mintmark.

Back:

The reverse of the Krugerrand gold coin features a springbok motif with a stylized South African steppe landscape in the background. Likewise, the coin’s fine weight, fineness, and precious metal are shown on the obverse of the coin.

The set:

The set is packed in a beautiful wooden box. The set also includes a numbered certificate from the SA Mint.
