The coin presented is a Krugerrand gold coin from the year 1968. It weighs exactly 1 ounce and was minted in exquisite proof quality.
Front design :
The impressive obverse of the coin features the renowned portrait of Paul Kruger. This image is so significant that the entire coin series bears the name “Krügerrand” in his honor. Paul Kruger was the President of South Africa between 1883 and 1902 and it was he who took the initiative to found the mint that later became the South African Mint. An interesting detail on the edge of the coin is that the issuing country is minted in two languages: English and Afrikaans.
Back design :
The back, on the other hand, fascinates with the motif of a springbok, which is presented against the background of an artistically designed South African steppe landscape. Additional details such as fine weight, purity and metal type are also engraved on this side of the coin.
Certification and assessment :
This special gold coin was tested and certified by the renowned PCGS institution, receiving a very high grade of PR67, confirming its outstanding quality and craftsmanship.
