The 1991 Krugerrand 1/10 oz Gold Proof with GRC Mint is one of the exceptional special editions in Krugerrand history. The abbreviation GRC stands for the Gold Reef City Mint in Johannesburg and clearly distinguishes this edition from the regular Krugerrand of the same year.

From 1987 to 1991, the Gold Reef City Mint offered visitors the unique opportunity to mint Krugerrands on site. The resulting proof coins bear the distinctive GRC mintmark on the reverse and are now a distinct collecting area within the Krugerrand series.

Of particular interest is the extremely low mintage of only 426 pieces for the 1991 GRC Krugerrand 1/10 oz Gold Proof. This piece has been certified by PCGS with PR67CAM . The additional designation “Cameo” indicates the distinct contrast between the reflective fields and the matte motifs of the proof embossing.

The obverse features a portrait of Paul Kruger , while the reverse bears the familiar springbok and the GRC mintmark, which is crucial for this special edition. The coin contains 1/10 of a troy ounce of gold and is minted in the traditional 22-karat Krugerrand alloy.
