This Peruvian 100 Soles gold coin from 1967 is among the most impressive large-format gold issues from South America. With a fine weight of approximately 1.3543 ounces of gold, it combines a substantial precious metal base with a classic, highly collectible design.

The obverse depicts the seated Liberty with staff, shield, and cornucopia. The inscription around the edge states the face value “Cien Soles Oro” and the fineness “Grs. 42.1264 de Oro Fino.” This clearly indicates the coin’s character as a large-format gold coin.

The reverse side shows the Peruvian coat of arms with laurel and palm branches, along with the inscription “República Peruana – Nueve Decimos Fino” (Peruvian Republic – Nine Ten Fino). Below this is the mint mark “Lima”.

This coin has been certified MS66 by PCGS, indicating a very high level of preservation. The PCGS population is particularly interesting: currently, only 16 coins of this year and type are listed as MS66, with only two receiving a higher grade.
