This beautiful 1-ounce gold coin depicts one of the kings of wildlife: the wolf. The gold coin features Smartminting® technology and has a unique, beautiful design. Smartminting® is a revolutionary technology in the field of modern numismatics, developed in 2016 by CIT Coin Invest from Liechtenstein in cooperation with Bernhard Heinrich Mayer Kunstprägeanstalt near Munich. It literally pushes boundaries, enables new specifications and set new standards in the commemorative coin industry.

The motif shows two different depictions of a wolf – while the animal in the foreground is shown in half-profile, in the background it is shown from the front and seems to stare at the viewer with a penetrating gaze. The reverse shows the Mongolian National Bank’s coat of arms and the bared teeth of the wolf. The teeth are embossed in ultra-high relief and the spaces between them are recessed into the surface to create a special contrast. The coat of arms of the issuing country “Mongolia” is located above the wolf’s nose and offers yet another layer of ultra-high relief. The background has a unique geometric pattern with the hidden date “2021” in the design.
