The motif for this was the monument El Angel de la Independencia in Mexico City. In the background of the Libertad 2023 Mexico 1/2 oz gold coin you can see a depiction of the two volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. Additionally imprinted are the fineness and the year of minting.
