Mexico – 2014 – Libertad – 1 Onza – Gold – Brilliant Uncirculated – PCGS MS70

Description
This 1 oz Gold Libertad 2014 coin from Mexico combines the classic symbolism of Mexican liberty with a modern bullion issue in exceptional condition. The coin is made of 1 oz of 999 fine gold and depicts the famous goddess of victory against the backdrop of the Valley of Mexico with the volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. Furthermore, this particular example is in PCGS MS70, meaning it is in virtually flawless uncirculated condition. This makes the coin not only a valuable precious metal item but also a carefully selected, high-quality piece for a discerning Libertad collection.

Special features

  • 1 Onza Gold Libertad 2014 from Mexico

  • 1 oz of 999 fine gold in classic uncirculated quality

  • No face value, but recognized as legal tender in Mexico.

  • Attractive motif featuring the goddess of victory and a volcanic landscape

  • Low mintage of only 4,050 pieces in 1 oz uncirculated condition

  • Minted by the Casa de Moneda de México, the oldest mint in the Americas

  • PCGS Grading MS70 – highest regular grade of preservation for mint condition

  • Especially suitable for collectors who value quality and scarcity.

Motif and history
On the front (obverse) you see the Mexican state coat of arms with the eagle holding a snake in its beak, surrounded by the inscription “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS”. This clearly establishes Mexico’s national identity, and this motif is also found on many of the country’s classic circulating and commemorative coins.

The reverse depicts the winged goddess of victory atop the Victory Column, in the foreground wearing a laurel wreath and holding a broken chain. In the background, the Valley of Mexico and the two famous volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl unfold. The inscription “ONZA ORO PURO LEY .999” and the mint mark “Mo” of the Casa de Moneda de México complete the image. This creates a combination of historical imagery, scenic depth, and clear precious metal information.

The Gold Libertad series has been issued since 1981 and has since established itself as a distinct Mexican icon. Due in part to fluctuations in the annual mintage, certain years in excellent condition are particularly sought after by collectors and specialists.

Numismatic classification
The 1 oz Gold Libertad 2014 is one of the issues with a manageable circulation in international comparison. In conjunction with the PCGS grade MS70, this results in a combination of metal value, classic motif and rarity of preservation. Many pieces also remain in uncertified form in the bullion market, which means that certified specimens in perfect condition are relatively rare on the market.

This piece is particularly suitable for a collection of modern gold classics if quality, clear provenance, and international grading standards are a primary consideration. At the same time, the coin integrates harmoniously into thematic collections focusing on Mexico or Libertad, as well as into a 1 oz gold collection organized by country or motif.
