In the center of the coin the emblem of the Bank of Russia (double-headed eagle with lowered wings, below the semicircular inscription “Bank of Russia”), framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the edge: top – “Sto Rublej”. Below – “2003”, left – description of the metal and its fineness. Right – fineness of the metal and the mint mark.

To the left and right of Kamchadal on the band are the dates “1725” “1730”. In the background in pictures of Bergen on the right you can see a sailing ship, on the circle the inscription: “The 1st Kamchatskaya Expedition”.
About the history
The participants of the 1st Kamchatka expedition, which took place between 1725 and 1730, led by navigator V. Bering, traveled on board the sailing ship along the coast of Kamchatka and Chukotka and entered the Arctic Ocean through the strait separating Asia and America, later called the Bering Sea. During the expedition they made extensive geographical observations, created extremely accurate cartography for the time, and through the observations learned about the life and habits of the native population.
