The Uganda 100 Shillings commemorative issue is a sought-after collectible and a testament to Uganda’s history. The reverse of the coin shows the torso of Pope Paul VI with his right hand raised above a map of Africa. The Latin characters “BANK OF UGANDA”, “ROME”, “AFRICA”, “WELCOMES POPE PAUL VI” and “KAMPALA” are engraved along with the year “1969”.
This coin is made of gold and has a fineness of 0.900. Its weight is 13.82 grams (fine 12.44 grams), with a diameter of 30 mm and a thickness of 2.5 mm. This coin was minted in a limited edition of 4190 gold coins, making it a rare and valuable collector’s item. Another great feature is the very high grading with PF67 Ultra Cameo by the NGC.
