Turkmenistan – 2006 – 1000 Manat – Ruhnama – The Second Book – Gold – Proof – NGC PF70 UCAM – Top Pop – Population 1 – Cert 6635070-017

This gold coin from Turkmenistan is among the rarest and most valuable issues of the 2006 Ruhnama series . The second book within this series occupies a special position, as it thematically connects directly to the ideological core of the Ruhnama and was simultaneously produced as a strictly limited prestige coin. Such issues were not intended for free international trade but were created within a clearly state-controlled context, resulting in correspondingly limited availability.

This particular coin was struck in proof quality and certified by NGC with PF70 Ultra Cameo . PF70 signifies absolutely flawless condition without any discernible production or handling marks. In combination with Ultra Cameo, this creates maximum contrast between the highly reflective fields and the matte relief, resulting in a particularly precise and three-dimensional rendering of the graphically clear design.

The NGC Census further underscores the exceptional status of this coin. Currently , only a single example of this issue is recorded in PF70 Ultra Cameo ; no higher grades exist. This makes it a Top Pop – Population 1 , the highest grade awarded to this coin within the entire NGC Census. This makes it a census-leading trophy piece , currently irreplaceable in this certified top quality.

Background to Ruhnama

The Ruhnama (“Book of the Soul”) was written by President Saparmurat Niyazov and combines spiritual and moral guidance with autobiographical narratives and a highly idealized, partly revisionist historical account of Turkmenistan. It also includes poems and legends – among them by the well-known Sufi poet Magtymguly Pyragy.

The aim of the work was to serve as a spiritual guideline for the nation – as a basis for art, literature, education and social interaction. The Ruhnama was intended to create a positive self-image of the Turkmen people, to interpret national history heroically, and to define norms for social, family, and religious life.

This gold coin combines political symbolism, rare origin and the highest numismatic quality – an exclusive collector’s item from one of the most unusual minting contexts of modern times.
