Krugerrand 2008 Mintmark 110 years KNP 1oz Proof Gold

This is the Krugerrand Launch Set from 2008. This set consists of the 2008 Krugerrand 1 oz Gold Coin with the 110th Anniversary Mintmark in honor of the Krugerrand National Park.

The set also includes a medallion in silver in 925 fineness in antique finish.

The Launch Set in this issue has a very small print run of only 200 pieces.

Front:

The obverse of the Krugerrand gold coin features the world-famous portrait of Paul Kruger, after whom the series of Krugerrand coins was named. Paul Kruger, then President of South Africa (1883 to 1902), founded the mint from which the South African Mint emerged.

On the edge of the coin was stamped the country of issue in English and Afrikaans.

Back:

The reverse of the Krugerrand gold coin features a springbok motif with a stylized South African steppe landscape in the background. Likewise, the coin’s fine weight, fineness, and precious metal are shown on the obverse of the coin. In addition, you can see the “110 years” anniversary mintmark.

The set:

The set is packed in a beautiful wooden box. The set also includes a numbered certificate from the SA Mint.
