On the obverse of this exquisite coin you will find the image of South Africa’s national flower, the royal protea. The words “Herdenking Van S.A. Goue Proef Munte” (Commemorative Proof S.A. Gold Coins) are engraved next to the flower, adding a touch of elegance to this already beautiful piece.
On the reverse you will see a screw press flanked by two operators with the inscription “Commemorating Proof S.A. Gold Coins 1952-1977. 1 Oz Fine Gold”. circle the image.
