Overview :
On the anniversary of Rhodesia’s Declaration of Independence, November 11, 1966, the Reserve Bank of Rhodesia released special gold coins.
The edition for sale here is the 1 pound gold coin and this has been certified very high by the PCGS at PR65. Only 8 editions have been better certified by the PCGS in its long history.
Design:
Obverse : The obverse features a portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, looking to the right, adorned with a magnificent tiara. The portrait is surrounded by the inscription “Elizabeth the Second”.
Back:
A lion with a tusk, which is an element of the coat of arms of the former British South Africa Company.
