We present here Kazakhstan 10,000 Tenge Gold Coin – Silk Road, a valuable investment that has historical significance. This coin was put into circulation on February 19, 1996 to commemorate the Silk Road – a great trade caravan route that connected many countries in the first centuries of our millennium until the 15th century.
The obverse of the coin features a stunning 16-cornered decorative rosette with inscriptions including the face value of the coin, the year of minting, the circular inscription “NATIONAL BANK OF KAZAKHSTAN,” the weight of the coin in ounces, and the abbreviation for National Bank of Kazakhstan in Kazakh “Қ.Ұ.Б.” The reverse shows a depiction of Shanyrak – the roof of a yurt surrounded by a trade caravan of camels, which embodies the Silk Road.
The design of the coin is in the form of a circle with inscriptions in Kazakh and English with the inscription “ЖІБЕК ЖОЛЫ. ҚАУЫШУ ЖОЛЫ… SILK ROAD. ROAD OF DIALOGUE.” The mint mark of the coin is “ҚҰБ” – the mint mark of the Kazakh Mint.
The Kazakhstan 10,000 Tenge Gold Coin – Silk Road is graded MS64 by NGC, making it the highest grade ever achieved by NGC and the only one with this rating. It is so-called top pop, which means it is the most famous example of its kind.
