This Jordanian 50-dinar gold coin belongs to the Conservation Series, thus reflecting the WWF and nature conservation ideals of the 1970s in the Arab world. The reverse design features the Houbara bustard, a bird species of cultural significance in the region, making the coin’s thematic focus very clear.

The obverse depicts King Hussein bin Talal facing right with Arabic inscription. The reverse bears the inscription THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN, the double date 1977 and 1497 (AH 1397) , and the denominations 50 DINARS and 54 دينارا.
