Jordan – 1977 AH1397 – 50 Dinar – Houbara Bustard – Conservation Series – WWF – Gold – NGC MS68

This Jordanian 50-dinar gold coin belongs to the Conservation Series, thus reflecting the WWF and nature conservation ideals of the 1970s in the Arab world. The reverse design features the Houbara bustard, a bird species of cultural significance in the region, making the coin’s thematic focus very clear.

The obverse depicts King Hussein bin Talal facing right with Arabic inscription. The reverse bears the inscription THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN, the double date 1977 and 1497 (AH 1397) , and the denominations 50 DINARS and 54 دينارا. The coin was minted at the Royal Mint in Llantrisant, which is typical for this series.

The present specimen is rated MS68 by NGC, resulting in an exceptionally fresh mint condition with a very clean field image and clear subject sharpness.
