This is the 1966 20 Birr gold coin from Ethiopia.

The coin “Haile Selassie” embodies the 75th anniversary of the birth and the 50th anniversary of the accession to the throne of Emperor Hailé Selassié I.

On the obverse of the coin is a bust 3/4 left of the emperor, sharing a crown and shield. The inscription on the coin reads “Haile Selassie”, “75th birthday” and “50th year of leadership”.

The reverse depicts a crowned lion on the right, whose right foreleg is raised. This one holds a ribbon cross. The sides show the value of the coin in Ethiopian and English. The bottom of the gold coin shows the date in two different calendars.

The gold coin was certified by the NGC and graded with a very high grade of PF69 Ultra Cameo(certificate test).

This is a top pop, meaning that as of today, no other issue has been rated higher than this one at NGC.
