History

The Republic of Khakassia with the capital Abakan is part of the Siberian Federal District and covers an area of 62,000 km2. This part of the Russian Federation extends to the left of the Yenisei River in the Sayano-Altayskaya Highlands and the Minusinskaya Basin.
