50 Pesos 1957 Constitution Centennial 1.2 oz Gold

Here you can see the 50 pesos 1957 Constitution Centennial. This gold medal commemorating the first centennial of the Constitution was issued in 1957 by the Banco de Mexico.

Front:

On the obverse of the gold medal is a female figure in a robe holding a book with the inscription “CONSTITUCION 1857”. Here you can also see the map of Mexico in the background. The inscription on the right side of the female figure reads “PRIMER CENTENARIO DE LA CONSTITUCION DE 1857” (which means “first century of the Constitution of 1857”).

The reverse of the gold medal shows the Assembly Hall of the Constitutional Congress of 1856-1857, depicted in multi-dimensional detail. The inscription at the top center reads “CONGRESO CONSTITUYENTE” and engraved at the bottom center is “1856-1857”.

This gold medal has the same weight as a Mexican gold coin of 50 pesos (Centenario). Another plus for collectors is that this medal is extremely rare on the coin market.
