1626 – A New World Map – Terrestrial Dome – 1 oz Gold Coin – 2018 – RAM

This is the very rare Dome 1 oz Gold Coin Polished Plate RAM 1626 World Map from 2018. This copy is limited to only 750 copies worldwide and for this reason is particularly popular with collectors and enthusiasts around the world. This second and final issue of the Terrestrial Dome coin series symbolizes the fascination of the Age of Discovery.

Front:

The obverse of the gold coin features the Western Hemisphere. This illustration, is based on a map made by the English cartographer John Speed in 1626. The very beautifully rendered map is a work of art from the great age of discovery.

Back:

The reverse of the Royal Australia Mint gold coin features the bust of Queen Elizabeth II. Around it is written “Australia 2018”, “100 Dollars” and “Elizabeth II”.
