Turkmenistan – 2006 – 1000 Manat – Ruhnama – Prosperity – Gold – Proof – NGC PF70 UCAM – Top Pop – Population 1 – Cert 6642440-025
This gold coin from Turkmenistan is one of the most distinctive prestige issues of the 2006 Ruhnama series. The “Prosperity” issue thematically represents stability, order, and state-defined progress, thus occupying a clearly programmatic role within the series. Unlike classic collector coins from Western mints, these gold coins were not produced for the open market, but rather as deliberately chosen symbolic vehicles with correspondingly limited international availability.
This particular coin was struck in proof quality and certified by NGC with the perfect grade PF70 Ultra Cameo . PF70 signifies flawless condition with no discernible production or handling marks. Ultra Cameo describes the maximum contrast between deeply reflective fields and matte relief, making the design appear exceptionally clear, crisp, and visually striking – a crucial factor for conceptually minted prestige issues.
The NGC Census confirms the exceptional status of this coin. Currently , only a single example of this issue is recorded in PF70 Ultra Cameo ; no higher grades exist. This makes it a Top Pop – Population 1 , the highest grade awarded to this coin within the entire NGC Census. This makes it a census-leading trophy piece , currently irreplaceable in this certified top quality.
Background to Ruhnama
The Ruhnama (“Book of the Soul”) was written by President Saparmurat Niyazov and combines spiritual and moral guidance with autobiographical narratives and a highly idealized, partly revisionist historical account of Turkmenistan. It also includes poems and legends – among them by the well-known Sufi poet Magtymguly Pyragy.
The aim of the work was to serve as a spiritual guideline for the nation – as a basis for art, literature, education and social interaction. The Ruhnama was intended to create a positive self-image of the Turkmen people, to interpret national history heroically, and to define norms for social, family, and religious life.
This gold coin combines political symbolism, rare origin and the highest numismatic quality – an exclusive collector’s item from one of the most unusual minting contexts of modern times.
