This is the extremely rare 1 Lilangeni Sobhuza II from Swaziland from 1968. There were a maximum of 2,000 pieces of this example, which was minted by the SA Mint on the same blanks/circles as the 1968 Krugerrand, but according to various sources, a large part of them were melted down. For this reason, this coin is especially popular among collectors and enthusiasts around the world.

On one side of the coin the face value of the coin “One Lilangeni” and the year “1968” are engraved. In addition, you can find a lion, an elephant and a shield as symbols. Below the sign is the word “Siyinqaba”.

On the other side of the coin you can find the portrait of Sobhuza II, the name in writing and the inscription “Swaziland Independence”.

This issue has a very interesting patina on both sides, making it even more interesting. Of course, we can also submit the coin to NGC or PCGS for grading on your behalf.
