Krugerrand GRC Proof Set 1990 4 coins gold

In front of you is the extraordinary Krügerrand GRC collection set from 1990, which is characterized by its premium embossing in “Proof” (Proof/PP). The set consists of four different gold coin weights, ranging from a full ounce to a tenth of an ounce.

The year 1990 is particularly notable as there was only a limited edition of 1,066 sets that year.

Front view of the individual coins :

The obverse of each gold coin features the iconic portrait of Paul Kruger, namesake of the Krugerrand coin series and former President of South Africa (1883-1902). He is the founder of the mint that later became the South African Mint. The name of the country of issue is engraved on the edge of the coin in both languages, English and Afrikaans.

Coin reverse :

The reverse design features an image of a springbok surrounded by an artistic depiction of the South African steppe. In addition, information on the precious metal, the fineness and the fine weight is noted on the front of the coin.
