This exceptionally rare 2 oz Krugerrand Gold Proof 2023 coin unites two of South Africa’s most iconic symbols: the world-famous Krugerrand and Kruger National Park. The special edition commemorates the 125th anniversary of the reserve’s establishment in 1898 , marked by a special “125 YEARS KNP” privy mark on the reverse.

Particularly noteworthy is the extremely limited mintage. Only 100 pieces of this 2 oz Gold Proof edition with the 125 Years KNP Privy were struck . This makes it one of the rarest modern special editions within the Krugerrand series and significantly more than just a particularly large version of the classic Krugerrand.

The reverse features Coert Steynberg’s traditional springbok motif. Above the springbok is the clearly visible “125 YEARS KNP Privy ,” which immediately distinguishes this special edition from the regular 2023 issue. The obverse features the well-known portrait of Paul Kruger, designed by Otto Schultz.

With a fine gold content of 2 oz, this issue combines significant gold value with an exceptionally small numismatic mintage. It was struck in the traditional Krugerrand alloy of 22-karat gold with a fineness of 916.7/1000 .

The coin offered here has been graded PF70 Ultra Cameo by NGC , achieving the highest possible grade for a proof coin. Additionally, the holder bears the coveted “First Day of Issue” inscription.
