Peru – Elias Aguirre 50000 Soles Gold 1979 PCGS MS67

You see here a beautiful gold coin issued by the State of Peru in 1979 in honor of Elias Aguirre. This gold coin is part of the series “Heroes of the Pacific War” from 1879-1883. Aguirre was a commander in the Peruvian Navy, died as a martyr on the battlefield and is still considered one of the country’s national heroes.

This edition was rated very highly by PCGS with MS67 and certified. This makes it, as of today, the best issue ever graded at PCGS (!), which makes it a desirable gold coin for any collection.
