This issue is part of the series “Heroes de la Guerra del Pacifico”. These commemorative coins show heroes of the “Saltpetre War” as the Pacific War is also called. It was conducted between Chile, Peru and Bolivia from 1879 to 1884. It was about the regions of Atacama, Arica y Parinacota and Tarapaca.
