The coin was minted as a commemorative issue in honor of President William Tubman’s 70th birthday.

The gold coin was certified by PCGS and rated at a very high grade of PR68.

This very special version, unlike the standard version, has a diameter of 30mm instead of 25mm and was minted only 100 times (normal mintage 3000). This issue bears not only the mark “B” for Bern, but also “L” for Liberia.
