2014 1 Ounce China Smithsonian Proof Gold Panda Medal NGC PF 70 UCAM (with box and certificate of authenticity)

This 2014 China Gold Medal is the result of cooperation between China and the Smithsonian Institution. This medal was issued in 2014 to honor the giant pandas at the Washington, D.C. Zoo. The panda design is one of the most sought after designs among collectors around the world. In addition, the mintage of these 1-ounce gold medals is usually very small, which makes them an extremely valuable collectible.

Front: Shown is the Smithsonian Castle near the National Mall in Washington, D.C. along with the Great Wall of China. Inscriptions: “2014”, “Smithsonian Institution” in Chinese and English.

Reverse: This shows Mei Xiang and Tian Tian engaged in one of their favorite pastimes, eating bamboo. Inscriptions: pandas names in Chinese, “1 oz”, “Au .999”, “Mei Xiang and Tian Tian at the National Zoo”.

This gold medal was also certified by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) with PF70 Ultra Cameo.
