This is the highly sought-after Panda 1 oz gold coin from China, minted in 1982. This particular coin is limited to a worldwide mintage of only 13,532 and is therefore especially popular with collectors and enthusiasts around the globe. This gold coin is produced and issued by the China Mint.

Front:

The front of the coin features a panda holding a bamboo branch in its arms and the inscription 99.9% (which stands for the fineness of the gold in the coin) and Chinese characters.

Back:

The reverse of the Panda China gold coin features the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, also known as the Temple of Heaven. This temple complex is located in the south of Beijing and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998. Above the Temple of Heaven is the Chinese inscription “Zhonghua Renmin Gongheguo,” which translates to “People’s Republic of China.” The year of issue, 1982, is also visible.

Red spots are (unfortunately) not uncommon at the China Mint. Therefore, these cannot be grounds for a complaint regarding Gold Panda coins.

The coin is encapsulated.
