The obverse of the coin depicts Liberty, the goddess of liberty, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. Behind her, the sunrise is visible. Liberty is surrounded by 46 stars.

Back:

The reverse of the gold coin features a flying bald eagle soaring above a rising sun. The inscription “United States of America” ​​and “Twenty Dollars” appears around the edge of the coin.
