The obverse of the Gold Libertad coin depicts the winged goddess of victory, Victoria, in front of the two volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. The other side shows the Mexican coat of arms with the eagle and the snake, as well as the inscription ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS .
