Here you see the 100 Pesos gold coin from Cuba from 1991 with the motif “Pinzón Brothers” from the series “Hispanic-American Figures”.

This gold coin was dedicated to the Pinzón brothers. The Pinzón brothers, natives of Palos, the port from which Columbus’s fleet sailed, were sailors who participated in the discovery of America alongside Christopher Columbus. They were captains of the ships La Pinta and La Niña, while Columbus (captain of the expedition) was on the Santa María. A third brother, Francisco Martín, also participated in the expedition as a captain.

This coin has a limited mintage of only 200 pieces.
