Belarus sailing ship Constitution 2010
Obverse: the coat of arms of the Republic of Belarus with the circular inscription: REPUBLIC OF BELARUS. In the center of the coin is a stylized image of a wind rose against the background of a sea chart (with hologram). Inscriptions in a circle: nominal value – 20 rubles below, year of issue on the left and the mark of the Polish mint.
Reverse: Depicted against a coastline in a maritime landscape, one of the oldest sailing ships in the world, the Constitution, with a smaller image of the ship (side view) on the left, and the original text: CONSTITUTION on the reverse.
The USS Constitution is the oldest floating sailing ship in the world. Still in the service of the US Navy. Known as the “Old Ironsides.” The ship was given this nickname after it was discovered during the Anglo-American War that shells from the British HMS Guerriere bounced off the ship’s side walls, which were made of Virginia oak.
