This is the 100 Soles gold coin from 1964. Important for collectors/investors: This specimen has been certified by the NGC.
Only 11,000 Peruvian 100 Soles gold coins from 1964 exist worldwide. They were minted at the Lima Mint. Peru is one of the countries with the richest gold reserves in the world.
Like many other countries, Peru also used gold for its circulating coins well into the 20th century.
An unusual fact is that Peru only minted gold coins as circulating currency until 1970. The last 100 Soles gold coin was minted in Lima in 1970. The Peruvian Soles was minted in various denominations with face values of 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 Soles.
