Temple of the Tooth Relic of Buddha

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum is a religious and cultural institution that houses a relic believed to be a tooth of Buddha.

The temple of the tooth relic of Buddha is very unusual. When a Buddhist temple was first proposed for Singapore’s Chinatown in the late 1980s, it was to be a more traditional temple at the time. Later it became the Tooth Relic Temple, where a tooth relic of Buddha is kept. The Buddha’s tooth relic is housed in a huge stupa that weighs a whopping 3,500 kilograms and is made of 320 kilograms of gold, 234 kilograms of which were donated by believers.

The Singapore Night Safari is the first night zoo in the world. It takes place between 7 pm and midnight and lasts 3-4 hours. The animals of the night safari, including gaur (“Bos gaurus” is the largest living representative of cattle), chital deer, Asian elephants and rhinos, are made visible to visitors by lighting.
