This is 1 oz Krugerrand gold coin from 1990 in Proof/PP (Polished Plate) mint quality.

What makes this specimen very special is that it is certified by PCGS with the PR69 DCAM (Deep Cameo) grade. As of today, there is only one better rated edition on PCGS.

The obverse of the Krugerrand gold coin depicts the world-famous portrait of Paul Kruger, after whom the series of Krugerrand coins was named. Paul Kruger, then President of South Africa (1883 to 1902), founded the mint from which the South African Mint originated. On the edge of the coin, the issuing country was stamped in English and Afrikaans.

The reverse of the Krugerrand gold coin depicts a springbok motif with a stylized South African steppe landscape in the background. Likewise, the fine weight of the coin, the fineness and the precious metal are depicted on the obverse of the coin.
