100 pesos 1992 Seville tower of gold NGC PF67 Ultra Cameo

You see here the 100 pesos gold coin from Cuba from 1992 with the motive “Gold Tower” from the series “The Year of Spain”.

This gold coin was dedicated to the Tower of Gold (Gold Tower). The Golden Tower is located in Seville, Spain. Its name comes from the golden glow that reflects on the Guadalquivir River, on whose banks it stands. Previously, the reflected color was thought to be due to the presence of gold on the cladding or tiles, but later, during maintenance work, it was found that the cladding was made of pressed hay, mortar and lime.

This coin has a small edition of only 225 pieces.

Additionally, this gold coin has been certified by the NGC with the PF67 Ultra Cameo grade. Only one coin of this issue has ever been graded better at the NGC.
