100 pesos 1992 El Escorial NGC PF67 Ultra Cameo

You see here the 100 pesos gold coin from Cuba from 1992 with the motive “El Escorial” from the series “The Year of Spain”.

This gold coin was dedicated to El Escorial. El Escorial is a former monastery, official residence of the King of Spain, located about 45 km southwest of Madrid. It was built in the years 1563-1584. In fact, only King Philip II lived in the main building, but it is the burial place of most Spanish kings.

This coin has a small edition of only 225 pieces.

Additionally, this gold coin has been certified by the NGC with the PF67 Ultra Cameo grade. Only three coins of these issues have ever been better certified at the NGC.
