History

The United Nations was established to preserve and strengthen peace and to develop cooperation among sovereign nations. It was drafted in 1944 by representatives of the USSR, the USA, Great Britain, and China, signed in 1945 at a conference in San Francisco by representatives of 50 states, and entered into force on October 24, 1945.
