History

Nikolai Mikhailovich Przhevalsky (1839-1888) was a world-renowned naturalist and explorer. He was born on April 12, 1839 in the village of Kimborovo in the Smolensk region. The Przhevalsky family belonged to an ancient noble family with its own coat of arms, which was awarded for their bravery in military battles. He devoted his life to the study of Central Asia.
