Lesotho 250 Maloti 1980 1/2 oz PCGS PR69DCAM

This is the very rare 250 Maloti 1/2 oz gold coin from the small state of Lesotho from 1980. This gold coin is limited to only 3000 coins worldwide and for this reason is particularly popular with collectors and enthusiasts around the world. This gold coin was issued in Lesotho for the 110th anniversary. Produced and issued for the 50th anniversary of the death of King Moshoeshoe I.

What makes this specimen very special is that it is certified by PCGS with the PR69DCAM (Deep Cameo) grade. This is a so-called top pop, which means that as of today there is no better or equally rated edition on PCGS.

The reverse of the gold coin features a hat with a diamond in the center, a corn kernel on the left and an alligator on the right. Also, this coin is inscribed with “Khotso Pula Nala”, “One Ounce Fine Gold”, the denomination “250 Maloti” and the mintage year “1980”.

On the obverse of the 250 Maloti Lesotho gold coin, the text “Kingdom of Lesotho” and “Moshoehoe I” can be clearly seen.

The coin is encapsulated.
