South African Krugerrand Gold – Special Krugerrand Launch Sets with Privy Marks

South African Krugerrand Gold - Special Krugerrand Launch Sets with Mint Marks

Since 1997, the SA Mint has regularly minted special editions of the Krugerrand. Unlike the usual proof coins, these special collectibles are dedicated to specific occasions, are called“launch sets” and have a very limited mintage. The total circulation mentioned above is usually divided between an international edition and a local edition. The “Local Launch Sets” or “Domestic Limited Editions” of Krugerrand are very popular worldwide. Let’s take a closer look at the launch sets and their background.
